Derryl DeWayne Schake, Oct. 29, 1942 — Sept. 24, 2012

COLUMBIA— Derryl DeWayne Schake, 69, of Columbia died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012.

Mr. Schake was born on Oct. 29, 1942, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Walter and Birdelle Schake.

He married Lynette Jean Lamb on March, 2, 1963. She died on Sept. 4, 2009. 

Mr. Schake served in the Marine Corps. 

Survivors include his six children, Mark Schake and wife, Molly, of Mililani, Hawaii, Paul Schake and wife, Melissa, of Richmond, Laura Bowles and husband, Victor, of Vail, Az., Trent Schake and wife, Heather, of Columbia Kerri Anderson and husband, Eric, of Hallsville, and Sarah Moore and husband, Caleb, of Hallsville; and 31 grandchildren. 

A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Blue Ridge Christian Church, 2400 Blue Ridge Road. Services will follow.
