Boone County National Bank robbery suspect arrested

COLUMBIA — Officers with the Columbia Police Department have arrested a suspect in connection with a Sept. 21 Boone County National Bank robbery.

On Thursday, officers arrested Alvin Watkins on a charge of second-degree robbery with a bond of $50,000, according to a news release.

On Sept. 21, officers received a call about a robbery at Boone County National Bank. A witness reported two males were involved in the incident. The first male entered the bank, and the second one followed and committed the robbery. The two males then drove away in a silver Chevrolet Blazer. A witness provided police with the license plate of the car, according to the news release.
