Ray L. Quick loved music, poetry

COLUMBIA — Ray L. Quick of Hallsville died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012. He was 62.

He was born Dec. 5, 1949, in Columbia to Ralph R. and Viva M. Quick.

Mr. Quick graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He loved music, playing the guitar and poetry. He worked as an ironworker with Local 396.

Mr. Quick is survived by a daughter, April Littrell and her husband, Ryan, of Hallsville; a son, David Quick, of Hallsville; two sisters, Linda Vogt and her husband, Bob, of Centralia, and Marcia Haase and her husband, Jerry, of Bay Minnette, Ala.; two grandchildren, William and Emma Littrell; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents, Ralph R. and Viva M. Quick, and brother, Ralph Richard Quick Jr., died earlier.

Memorial services will be held from 5:30 to 7  p.m. Friday at Quicksand Ranch, 8750 East Mt. Zion Church Road, Hallsville. The family plans a celebration of Mr. Quick's life to reflect his lifestyle and asks those attending to wear work boots, blue jeans and flannel shirts.
