COLUMBIA — The National Weather Service is predicting a temperature drop to the low 30s Friday night in Columbia.

Temperatures are expected to fall between 30 and 33 degrees.

Ben Miller, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service, said even though temperatures are expected to be in the freezing range, there is only a slight chance of frost.

He attributes this small chance to heavy cloud coverage.

According to the Missouri Climate Center, the average date of the first fall frost is Oct. 15.

Supervising editor is Emilie Stigliani.
