COLUMBIA — The Missouri softball team continued its fall season Friday, splitting a doubleheader against Butler Community College and Jefferson College at University Field.

In the first game against Butler, Missouri played a solid offense and defense game. Pitcher Kelsea Roth's two home runs in the fifth and sixth innings helped Missouri defeat the Grizzlies 8-1.

But, in the second game against Jefferson College, the Tigers' bats went cold.

Jefferson College's pitcher Chelsea Smith allowed only three hits and two runs during the Vikings' 4-2 victory.

Missouri will play its final two games starting at 3:30 p.m on Friday, Oct. 12 at University Field against Crowder College and Heartland Community College.
