Lena Faye Ardrey loved family, cooking and baking

COLUMBIA — Lena Faye Ardrey of Columbia died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012. She was 86.

Ms. Ardrey was born Feb. 15, 1926, in McClurg to Clara Opal Albright and Elmer Earl Atkisson.

She married Bill Ardrey on July 22, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas. They moved to Columbia, where they had four children, two boys and two girls.

Mrs. Ardrey helped her mother-in-law run the family restaurant and learned how to cook through the process. She worked in the food service industry for most of her life.

Mrs. Ardrey is survived by her two sons, Bill Ardrey Jr. of Columbia and Colby Ardrey and his wife, Marni, of Harrisburg; her two daughters, Michelle Morris and her husband, Howard, of St. Peters, and Drusilla Dalton and her husband, Richard, of St. Charles; seven grandchildren, Justin Morris and his wife, Cynthia, Tania Statler and her husband, Travis, Ryan Dalton, Rachel Robinson and her husband, Tom, Kieran Ardrey, Riley Ardrey, and Taelan Ardrey; three great-grandchildren, Gabriella Morris, Preston Statler, and Cosette Statler; and seven nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Bill Ardrey Sr.; her three brothers, Lawrence, Bobby, and Dale Atkisson; and a niece died earlier.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Parker Funeral Service, 22 N. Tenth St. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, 1217 Business Loop 70 W.
