Florence Eva Jones of Columbia lived to be 104

COLUMBIA — Florence Eva Jones of Columbia died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012. She was 104.

Mrs. Jones was born July 5, 1908, in Woodbine, Iowa, to John R. and Eva Elvira (Butler) Aughey. She was a graduate of Woodbine Iowa High School and received her degree in teaching. She married Luther Cecil Jones on May 28, 1934, in Woodbine.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her grandson, Cecil Jones; granddaughters, Debbie Morgan and Tracy Jones; five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband; son, Glenn James; two brothers, Jerome and Cecil; and sister, Charolett, died before.

Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 E. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
