Part of Ninth Street closed until Monday morning

Sunday, October 7, 2012 | 6:48 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — Ninth Street between University Avenue and Elm Street will be closed from 7 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Columbia Public Works Department.

Construction equipment, including a large crane, associated with the 308 Ninth St. construction site is the reason for the closing, the release said.

The FastCAT Express route's stop at Ninth Street and University Avenue will not be serviced during this time. Riders who normally use this stop should instead use the stop at Hitt Street and University Avenue.
