CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story included an incorrect amount for the proposed increased cigarette tax.
Missouri, which has the lowest tobacco tax and fourth-highest adult smoking rate in the country, is proposing an increase in the tax on cigarette packs to 90* cents from 17 cents.
We’re working on a story about this, and we're asking people what they think about whether the tax increase could improve smoking cessation programs in the state. We’d love to hear about your personal experiences.
Will higher cigarette costs motivate people to stop smoking?
