COLUMBIA — A section of Ninth Street between University Avenue and Elm Street will be closed from 7 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday.

A crane and another large piece of equipment will be blocking the street in front of 308 Ninth St., Columbia Public Works Department spokesman Steven Sapp said.

“The only place they have to put the equipment is in the street itself,” Sapp said.

The FastCAT Express downtown bus will make a detour to pick up northbound riders at Hitt and Locust streets and southbound riders at Hitt Street and University Avenue.

Supervising editor is Emilie Stigliani.
