COLUMBIA– Expect warm and rainy conditions on game day.

The National Weather Service on Thursday was calling for a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. on Saturday; kickoff of the Mizzou-Alabama game is 2:30 p.m.

Severe weather is also possible Saturday afternoon into the evening.

"It is too early to tell, but we think that the storms will show up considerably later, I would guess between 4 and 8 p.m.," meteorologist Ben Miller said. "We are confident that there will be storms late in the day, though."

A high of 82 degrees was forecast with winds gusting up to 28 mph.

The strong storm system moving into the Midwest on Saturday afternoon will likely produce wind and hail, Miller said. "There is the opportunity for the storm to produce a tornado," he said, "but that is iffy."
