Two Columbia Mall fast-food restaurants reopen following inspection

COLUMBIA — Two fast-food restaurants at Columbia Mall — Stir Fry 88 and Famous Cajun Grill — reopened after passing a health inspection Tuesday afternoon.

Stir Fry 88 and Famous Cajun were closed temporarily Monday because of health code violations. This was the third time Stir Fry 88 was shut down this year and the first time Famous Cajun was shut down this year. Both restaurants failed an initial follow-up inspection Tuesday morning, but they passed a second inspection that afternoon, said Environmental Public Health Supervisor Kala Gunier.

"The two restaurants were cooperative during the inspection," Gunier said.

Gunier said the Public Health and Human Services Department already got feedback from the Stir Fry 88 franchiser saying that the restaurant will hold staff training to make sure similar violations do not happen again.

Supervising editor is Alison Matas.
