COLUMBIA — It was a big day for senior runner Max Storms at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational in Madison, Wis. Storms ran a personal best 24:01 in the 8K.

The other Missouri men and women runners could not match Storm's result, finishing in the bottom half of a meet that featured 20 of the top 30 teams in the nation.

The men's team finished No. 31 out of 45 schools, while the women finished third from last in 43rd place.

Junior Kaitie Vanatta finished first for the MU women's team with a time of 20:52, which was also the 109th-best individual time on the day.

Storm's personal record of 24:01 was good for 49th place. Junior Merid Seleshi was the Tiger's second best runner, but finished 125th overall with a time of 24:24.

Stanford finished first on the men's side, while Iowa State won the women's race.

Missouri will be back on the track next weekend, taking part in the Illini Open in Champaign, Ill. on Oct. 19.
