FastCAT makes changes to schedule, bus stops

Saturday, October 13, 2012 | 4:11 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — The 107 FastCAT bus schedule and some of its stops will change Monday in order to make transfers between Columbia Transit routes easier.

The changes are coming in response to passenger feedback to Columbia Transit, according to a press release. With the current system, passengers looking to transfer to and from FastCAT must walk a half block from Wabash to the nearest FastCAT stop at the intersection of Walnut and Orr Street.

The new system will run on a 15-minute headway, meaning that a person shouldn't have to wait more than 15 minutes at a given stop for the next bus to arrive, according to the release. The previous schedule had stops 20 minutes apart.

The updated schedule can be found at FastCAT's website. Representatives at FastCAT could not be reached for contact.

The FastCAT route launched in August.
