Missouri cross country runner earns SEC freshman of the week honors

Missouri freshman cross country runner Tyler Schneider has been named the Southeastern Conference freshman of the week for the second time this season.

Schneider earned the award for the first time on Oct. 2 after he ran a race in  a 24:23.54 at the Greater Louisville Classic, which was a personal record by 66 seconds. He finished 27th overall in the event andwas the third freshman finisher.

On Friday, Schneider ran in 24:45 at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational, which was the second fastest 8K time for a freshman in the SEC. He has now scored in every meet for the Tigers this season.

The next meet for Schneider and Missouri comes on Oct. 26 atthe SEC Championships in Nashville, Tenn.
