Paul Lowry enjoyed skiing, canoeing

Paul Lowry of Columbia died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012. He was 44.

Mr. Lowry was born Nov. 19, 1967, in Cape Girardeau to Paul David Montgomery and Jerri Anne (Cook) Lowry. He was later adopted by Tom Lowry. He married Jeri Donoho in 2002.

He earned his bachelor's degree in parks and recreation from MU and spent 10 years working in Sequoia National Forest as an interpretive ranger, guiding cave tours at Crystal Cave. He also guided wild cave tours in Missouri and led Missouri River canoe trips. He also worked at ski resorts in Lake Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain and Boulder, Colo.

Mr. Lowry worked as a recreational therapist at The Missouri Psychiatric Center.

Mr. Lowry is survived by his wife, Jeri Donoho; two sons, Cale and Jude; his mother, Jerri Lowry; two sisters, Tracey Steele and husband Jim, and Beth Lowry; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at his childhood home.
