The Columbia College volleyball team beat Missouri Baptist 25-18, 22-25, 25-16, 25-20 on Monday night in a contest between the top two teams in the American Midwest Conference at the Arena of Southwell Complex.
The Cougars, No. 3 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, improved to 29-1 overall and remained undefeated in the AMC at 14-0. The Spartans, No. 15 in the NAIA, dropped to 28-2 and 12-2 in league play with the defeat, their second loss to the Cougars this season.
Setter Paula Ferreira, who was named the AMC player of the week for the third time this season, led all players with 45 assists.
Kahoriz Feliz led the Cougars with 13 kills. Carol Berger had 10, while Trinity Ojo and Brooke Simpson had nine apiece. Elena Berroteran had 12 digs and Simpson had 11 digs.
Columbia College plays next in a nonconference match against Grand View University in Iowa. Match time is set for 5 p.m. Friday at the Arena of Southwell Complex.
