BRANSON — Some deer hunting will be allowed inside Branson city limits.
The Branson Board of Aldermen voted Tuesday to approve bow hunting of deer inside the city, with several stipulations.
The amendment to city code requires bow hunters to have the required state licensing and safety training. They can hunt on land of at least 2 acres, at least 150 yards from a structure or property line, and only from a tree stand.
City leaders say the increasing deer population is causing more traffic accidents and damaging landscaping.
The hunts will begin this year during the state's second bow-hunting season from Nov. 21 to Jan. 15.
