Two Columbia residents arrested on suspicion of producing meth

COLUMBIA — The Boone County Sheriff’s Department arrested two men Friday evening after finding evidence of an active methamphetamine lab in a trailer at 4001 S. Ponderosa St.

Deputies found components of an active methamphetamine lab and finished methamphetamine in the trailer. A man dumped parts of the lab in a toilet as deputies were entering the trailer.

Rusty A. Modglin, 40, was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence, with bond set at $9,000.

Jamie K. Davis, 28, was arrested for two warrants for trespassing. Bond was set at $800.

Investigations on methamphetamine and the manufacturing process in Boone County are "a priority" for the Sheriff's Department, according to a press release. Anonymous tips can be madeat the Sheriff's Department website
