COLUMBIA — It was not a good week for the Missouri volleyball team. After losing 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-13) to Georgia on Wednesday, the Tigers lost to Arkansas 3-0 (23-25, 13-25, 15-25) on Sunday afternoon in Fayetteville, Ark. This marked the first time since 2011 that the team lost back-to-back matches.

The Tigers opened the match with high hopes, tying 10-10 with Arkansas during the first set until Arkansas built a 16-14 lead and eventually won the set. The Tigers continued to fall short after that, making .179 hitting in the second set and allowing the Hogs to make .593 hitting with 16 kills. The third set proved to be no better for Missouri, which lost 15-25 and was swept for the second time in a week.

The team's postgame release said the Tigers did not receive much offense from anyone except outside hitter Lisa Henning, who made 13 kills on .250 hitting during Sunday’s match. Freshman Regan Peltier made five kills, Lydia Ely and Whitney Little each made four. Henning almost made a double-double with nine digs, tying libero Sarah Meister for the team lead in digs.

The Tigers are now 15-8 overall and 7-6 in the SEC this season. The Tigers will return home to play South Carolina at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Hearnes Center.
