Columbia man arrested for burglary and assault of residents on Clark Lane

COLUMBIA — Police arrested a man Sunday morning on suspicion of burglary and the assault of two residents near the 4000 block of Clark Lane.

According to Public Information Officer Latisha Stroer of the Columbia Police Department, the suspect forced his way into the residents' home in search of money he believed was owed to him. When the residents came home, the suspect confronted and assaulted them, leaving one with a black eye and scratches on his neck and shoulder, Stroer said.

Michael Ray Bower is being held on charges of second-degree burglary, third-degree assault, resisting arrest and second-degree property damage as of Monday morning. Bail is set at $12,500.
