Columbia College volleyball sweeps Harris-Stowe State

COLUMBIA — The Columbia College women's volleyball team defeated Harris-Stowe State 25-6, 25-15, 25-14 on Monday in American Midwest Conference play at the Arena of Southwell Complex.

Trinity Ojo led the Cougars (31-1, 15-0 AMC) with 10 kills in 10 attempts. Jordan Reid had six kills in nine attempts and added six service aces. Paula Ferreira dished out 15 assists in the first set before Aleah Hayes took over as setter for the second and third set. Hayes had 22 assists, and Erin Pavlin added nine digs.

Earlier in the day, Ferreira was awarded her fourth American Midwest Conference Player of the Week title. Ferreira was a major contributor in wins against nationally-ranked Missouri Baptist University and Grand View University last week.

Columbia College is set to play Stephens College at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Southwell Complex.
