LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Here are things to keep in mind when voting

With the election  approaching, voters need to keep the following in mind:

1. With far right conservatives in control of the Republican Party, it is doubtful Romney could maintain his recently stated more moderate positions even if he wanted to do so. This would be denying the official positions of his party. He would be in very dangerous territory. No politician wants to go against those in control of his party.

2. Romney says he will create jobs. His tenure at Bain Capital proved one thing: he is an amazing speculator when it comes to obtaining cheap loans and buying struggling companies then selling them. This is not job creation. Many people have lost jobs because of Mitt Romney and Bain Capital.

3. Our climate is changing due to global warming in exactly the ways the overwhelming number of climate experts have predicted: huge storms, droughts, wildfires and crop failures. Romney wants to ramp up production of fossil fuels and cut money for  renewable energy, saying the causes of climate change are unproven.

Lastly, how can a man who is worth $250 million possibly identify with and represent the average middle-class American who is struggling just to pay bills and keep food on the table.
