COLUMBIA — A former Federal Trade Commission chairman heads the lineup of a weekend summit on textile and apparel production at MU.
The 2012 Textile Products Labeling Summit features a keynote address Friday by George Washington University law professor William Kovacic, a former FTC lawyer who was later chairman. A lobbyist for the American Apparel and Footwear Association delivers the Saturday keynote address.
Missouri assistant professor Jung-Ha Brookshire says the conference will explore issues surrounding country-of-origin labeling requirements as well as the industry's environmental issues.
