Early morning fire damages fourplex on Wildwood

COLUMBIA— A fire damaged a fourplex on Wildwood Road early Thursday morning.

Seven Boone County Fire Protection District units and one Columbia Fire Department unit responded to the fire at 1071 Wildwood Road around 5:30 a.m. Thursday. The fire — which entered all four units — was knocked down in 15 minutes, Battalion Chief Gale Blomenkamp said.

Three of the four units of the Khan Properties fourplex were occupied, but no one was injured, Blomenkamp said.

Firefighters cleared the scene around 8 a.m., but the state fire marshal was still investigating the cause of the fire and the damage, Blomenkamp said.
