The Columbia Independent School board of trustees appointed Dubé after an extensive international search. The hunt for a head of the school was led by a search committee. An advisory committee, faculty, staff and parents also assisted in the search for a new head of school. Consultants from Educators Collaborative also aided the process.

Currently, Dubé is employed as the Upper School Director at Vail Mountain School in Vail, Colo. Previously, Dubé was a teacher at Columbia Independent School, according to the news release.

Dubé grew up in the Midwest and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in classical languages from MU. He went on to get his master’s degree in educational leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.

He and his wife, Beth, who is a Columbia native, have three children ages 11, 8, and 6.

“We are so excited to have Adam join us at CIS and look forward to working with him as we advance our school into the future,” John Thompson, board of trustees chairman, said in the release.

Supervising editor is Karen Miller.
