COLUMBIA — A Black Friday shopper carrying a concealed weapon was arrested Thursday evening by Columbia police officers.

Columbia police responded to a call outside Hobby Lobby at 2001 W. Worley St. at 7:52 p.m. after receiving reports that a man was speaking to people in an aggressive manner and carrying a handgun, public information officer Latisha Stroer said.

Columbia police arrested Omar A. Mohammed on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon and disturbing the peace, Stroer said.

Mohammed was carrying a pistol in a holster on his right hip under his shirt. He did not have a carry conceal permit, Stroer said.
