Fire causes $65,000 damage to a farm shop in north Boone County

STURGEON — A fire caused an estimated $65,000 in damage to a farm shop at 865 Breedlove Drive on Saturday morning, said Division Chief Gale Blomenkamp of the Boone County Fire Protection District. No one was injured. 

The Fire District received a call from a neighbor at 11:50 a.m.  Nine firetrucks and 21 firefighters were dispatched. 

The fire was contained within 15 minutes, Blomenkamp said. 

Blomenkamp said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
