Reports of residential burglaries during Thanksgiving break decrease from 2011

COLUMBIA — The Columbia Police Department received reports of 24 residential burglaries from Nov. 16 through Nov. 27, according to a news release from the department.

The burglaries were concentrated in the northern, southern and central areas of town.

The number of Thanksgiving break burglaries dropped this year from 36 residential burglaries and three commercial burglaries in 2011, according to the release.
