Missouri moves up to No. 12 in AP rankings

The Tigers (6-1) won their sixth game of the season this week, beating Appalachian State 72-56. It was the first game since Michael Dixon Jr. announced his transfer from the school. Forward Laurence Bowers led the way, tying a career high with 23 points.

Missouri is now one of two ranked teams in the Southeastern Conference, with Florida (6-0) ranked No. 6. Kentucky (4-3), which started off the year ranked No. 3, is unranked this week following losses to previously unranked Notre Dame and Baylor.

The week ahead: The Tigers face Southeast Missouri State (6-4) at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mizzou Arena. The Redhawks are led by former Missouri forward Tyler Stone, who transferred to SEMO after his freshman year. He leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 15.8 points and 9.3 rebounds per game this season. The Tigers also face Tennessee State (3-5) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mizzou Arena.
