Police seek suspect in robbery in Walmart parking lot

COLUMBIA — Police are seeking a suspect in connection with a robbery Monday evening at the Walmart Supercenter at 3001 W. Broadway. 

Officers were dispatched to Walmart at 10:24 p.m. Monday. According to a Columbia Police Department press release, the suspect pulled a handgun and demanded the victim drive to the bank to withdraw money. Afterward, the man took the victim's keys, wallet and electronics, and his vehicle, a 2002 Ford Focus with Missouri registration. 

The victim got out of the car and went to the Police Department for assistance. He suffered minor injuries caused by being struck about the head and face with the handgun. 

The Police Department ask anyone with information to  contact Officer Latisha Stroer at 874-7448 or Crime Stoppers at 875-8477.
