Authorities identify southwest Missouri couple killed at home

Wednesday, December 5, 2012 | 2:43 p.m. CST

STOVER — The Morgan County Sheriff's Office has identified an elderly couple who were found dead in their home.

Officials say 82-year-old Wayne L. Wells and 71-year-old Mable I. Wells were found in their home Tuesday in a home in Ivy Bend, south of the Morgan County town of Stover.

KYTV reported a neighbor called 911 after finding Mable Wells in a pool of blood. Deputies found Wayne Wells in another room.

The sheriff's office says both victims were shot several times, probably Monday evening.

Authorities say a door had been forced open and the lights were on in the home.
