COLUMBIA — Karen Jane Cox of Columbia died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012. She was 57.
She was born in Columbia on Oct. 5, 1955, to Lloyd J. , and Loretta Nienaber Haley Jr.
She was known for rescuing many cats and dogs.
She had worked at a phone company since 1971.
Ms. Cox is survived by her father, Lloyd Haley Jr. of Columbia; a son, Jason Cox, and his wife, Keri, of Columbia; a brother, Joel Haley,and his wife, Julie, of Columbia, a grandson, Jaxon Cox; and a niece, Melissa Quas.
Her mother, Loretta, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Parker Funeral Service, 22 N. Tenth St. Services will follow at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m., and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
