COLUMBIA — The Missouri men's basketball team announced Wednesday night they will play the University of Arizona Wildcats in 2015 and 2016.

The agreement is a home-and-home series. Missouri will travel to Tucson, Ariz., for a game on Dec. 13, 2015 and will play them at Mizzou Arena the following season on Dec. 10, 2016.

Missouri has only played the Wildcats twice in men's basketball. Missouri beat Arizona 76-73 in 1984 and lost to them in the 1994 Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, 92-72.

“This is a great series and will generate the type of national exposure fans and programs want early in the college basketball season,” Missouri coach Frank Haith said in a release. “I have so much respect for (coach) Sean (Miller) and the Arizona program and when you get two national brands playing in on-campus settings it’s great for all of college basketball.”
