Special guests at the ceremony during the Boonslick Kiwanis meeting included Linda Rawlings, Director of the Columbia Area Career Center, Paula Fox, Coordinator of the Practical Nursing Program, and Dick and Nan Erickson. The Ericksons, Jo Behymer, and Boonslick Kiwanis fund the annual scholarship first awarded in 2010.

The Boonslick Kiwanis club presents this annual scholarship, which was started because of member Wayne Behymer's longstanding interest in helping students complete their education. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving student in the Practical Nursing program at the Career Center. This year, with additional financial support from the club, Behymers and Ericksons, two students were each awarded a $600 scholarship.
