COLUMBIA — Missouri junior Phil Pressey is being considered for point guard of the year.

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame put Pressey on the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year watch list Thursday afternoon. Pressey was a finalist for the award last year.

Pressey leads the Southeastern Conference in assists this season, averaging 5.8 per game, helping lead the No. 12 Tigers to 9-1.

There are several other SEC point guards on the list: Trevor Releford of Alabama, BJ Young of Arkansas, Trae Golden of Tennessee and Kenny Boynton and Scottie Wilbekin of Florida.

Former Missouri point guard Miguel Paul is also on the list. He attends East Carolina University.
