An open letter to the Columbia City Council:
Thank you for the decision regarding the trash roll carts. I have been opposed to the use of this new system from the start. Mr. Richard Wieman said 170 volunteers were interested in the pilot program. I imagine 80 percent of those weren't senior citizens; if there were senior citizen volunteers, they have a short, level driveway.
Please Mr. City Manager, Mr. John Glasscock and Mr. Wieman, call me when there's snow on the ground, so we can meet and take a look at some of the long, steep and uneven driveways.
If the subject of trash roll carts comes up again, I feel it should be put up for a citywide vote. We are doing well as we are. Again, thank you for your time and service.
