COLUMBIA — Increases to building fees enacted by the Boone County Commission will take effect at midnight Monday.

The fees for building permits, zoning applications and land use permits will rise, said Stan Shawver, the Boone County director of resource management.

All building permit fees will increase, Shawver said.

  • Rezoning application fees will increase from $150 to $300.

  • Modular home fees will increase from five cents to eight cents per square foot.
  • Conditional use permit fees — for the use of land for purposes not allowed by its zoning — will increase from $100 to $200.
  • The building fees for pole barns — barns constructed from poles anchored into cement — will increase from two cents to four cents per square foot.
