Steve Ray Simpson, Sr., April 3, 1954 — Dec. 31, 2012, of Columbia

COLUMBIA — Steve Ray Simpson, Sr. passed away unexpectedly at Boone Hospital on December 31, 2012. 

Steve was born April 3, 1954, in Moberly, Mo., to William L. Simpson and Cleeta A. (Agee) Simpson. On April 28, 1978, he married Vivian Jean Andres. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, a half brother and a half sister. 

Steve is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Stephen R. Simpson, Jr. (Tina) and William E. Simpson (Ashley), both from Columbia; one sister, Wilma L. Johnston, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Jocelyn, April, Aarin and Megan; and three nieces and two nephews.

Steve loved to fish, hunt, watch Nascar and UFO’s.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Online tributes may be left at www.memorialfuneralhomeandcemetery.com.
