COLUMBIA — Phil Pressey, a guard on the Missouri men's basketball team, was named one of 20 finalists for the 2013 Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year Award on Thursday.

This is the second season in a row that Pressey has been named a top 20 candidate.

The junior is averaging career highs in both points (13.6) and assists (7.6) this season, leading the No. 10-ranked Tigers to a 12-2 record. He shattered the previous school record in assists (13) with a 19-assist performance against UCLA, and recently had a career-high 26 points against Bucknell.

Pressey has 106 assists in 14 games this season, compared to his 85 in 14 games last season, which led to his Missouri season record of 223 assists.

Pressey was the only member of the Southeastern Conference named to the list.
