Donna Louise Koch, 70, of Columbia, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at Columbia Manor.

She was born on August 9, 1942 in St. Catherine, Missouri, the daughter of the late Earl and Vera Louise (Neal) Gillespie.

Donna was a member of the honor society and played flute and clarinet in high school. She met her husband, Jerry, while attending the University of Missouri. They married in June of 1963.

After marriage the couple moved to Milwaukee where their son J.D. was born. They then moved to Sikeston for eight years and then to Monett and back to Columbia in 2000. Donna was a school teacher in Monett, Purdy and Exeter. While in Sikeston and Monett, Donna also was a reporter.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Koch, Sr.; her son, J.D. Koch, Jr. and wife Shannon of Columbia; grandchildren, Josh Smothers and Zack Koch; three great-grandchildren, Lydia, Kaden and Makenna; sisters, Jan Vineyard and husband Wayne of Kansas City and Sharon Foltz and husband Steve of Macon.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.
