Donna Louise Koch was reporter and teacher

COLUMBIA — Donna Louise Koch of Columbia died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. She was 70.

Mrs. Koch was born Aug. 9, 1942, in St. Catherine. She married Jerry Koch in June 1963.

After marriage the couple moved to Milwaukee. They then moved to Sikeston for eight years, then to Monett, and then back to Columbia in 2000. Donna Koch was a teacher in Monett, Purdy and Exeter.

She was also a reporter in Sikeston and Monett. She was a member of the honor society and played flute and clarinet in high school.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Koch Sr.; a son, J.D. Koch Jr. and his wife, Shannon, of Columbia; two sisters, Jan Vineyard and her husband, Wayne, of Kansas City, and Sharon Foltz and her husband, Steve, of Macon; two grandchildren, Josh Smothers and Zack Koch; three great-grandchildren, Lydia, Kaden and Makenna.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
