Hickman girls basketball holds off Nerinx Hall

The Hickman girls basketball team beat Nerinx Hall 58-48 on Saturday afternoon in St. Louis to improve to 12-1 this season.
The Kewpies played to a 12-point halftime advantage, but the Markers pulled back with three points twice late in the second half. Hickman kept pace, though, outscoring Nerinx Hall 18-13 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Emily Miller led the Kewpies with 14 points, Jade Holly scored 13, Jordan Matthews had 12 and Cherish Walton had nine points.
Hickman plays its next game Thursday against Bishop Ward at the Smith-Cotton Tournament in Sedalia.
* The Hickman boys basketball team won 88-40 on Saturday afternoon at Kansas City.
