Armed man robs Petro Mart early Monday morning

COLUMBIA — A man armed with a handgun robbed the Petro Mart at 3300 Falling Leaf Lane in south Columbia early Monday morning.

According to a news release from the Columbia Police Department, a male wearing a ski mask and gloves and carrying a handgun entered the store around 2 a.m. Monday. He demanded money and left the business with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers discovered footprints in the snow that led from the west side of the building to a parking lot north of the building, where the footprints ended. Surveillance video is not currently available.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call CrimeStoppers at 875-TIPS.
