Hannibal-LaGrange can't slow Columbia College women's basketball

The Columbia College women's basketball team won its eighth straight game with a 65-30 victory Tuesday at Hannibal-LaGrange.

The Cougars (12-5), who improved to 5-0 in the American Midwest Conference with the victory, jumped to a 32-15 halftime advantage then started the second period on a 12-0 run. They finished the game with 13 steals and eight blocked shots.

Senior Julie Teeple led Columbia College with 13 points. Heather English had nine points followed by Brooke Godsey and Mackenzie Greis with eight points apiece. Godsey also added nine rebounds to help the Cougars out-rebound the Trojans 43-38.

Ashleigh Spencer led Hannibal-LaGrange (9-7 and 2-3 in the AMC) with eight points.

Columbia College returns home for an AMC contest against Missouri Baptist set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Arena of Southwell Complex.
