HUNTSVILLE — A central Missouri woman accused of killing her infant son and throwing his body into a pond was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to a reduced charge.

Twenty-six-year-old Cassidy King of Moberly was sentenced Tuesday to four years for manslaughter in the 2011 death of her son. Prosecutors say he was born at King's home a few weeks before his body was found in a duffel bag floating in a pond in Higbee.

King had been charged with second-degree murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter before being sentenced.

KRCG reported that King also was sentenced to four years for drug trafficking, with the sentences running consecutively.

King is currently serving a seven-year sentence on drug charges in Shelby County.
