Columbia College announces plans for presidential search

COLUMBIA — The search is on for a new president of Columbia College.

Gerald T. Brouder, the 16th president of Columbia College, will retire effective Aug. 1.

Daisy Grossnickle, chair of the Columbia College Board of Trustees, has announced a presidential search timeline.

Beginning Aug. 2, Terry B. Smith will serve as interim president of the college. Smith is currently the executive vice president and dean for academic affairs.

The Rev. John Yonker was appointed chair of the presidential search committee. The committee has eleven members.

Grossnickle hopes to have the new president named and on campus by July 1, 2014.
