Wallace Jackmon Sr., 79, of Columbia died

COLUMBIA — Wallace Jackmon Sr. of Columbia died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013. He was 79.

Mr. Jackmon was born June 4, 1933, in Howard County to Harry and Fannie Eliza Broadus Jackmon.

He is survived by seven children, Dr. Wallace Jackmon Jr. of Brandon, S.D., Lyndon Jackmon of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Anthony Jackmon of Des Moines, Iowa, Uilani Hunt of El Cerrito, Calif., Devonna Jackmon of Minneapolis, Minn., Csonya Jackmon of Atlanta, Ga. and YeVonne Jackmon of Minneapolis, Minn; his brother, Harry Jackmon of North Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Jo Ann Jackmon of Fayette and Helen Jackmon of Columbia; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His parents and one son, Shawn Jackmon, died earlier.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at HT May & Son Funeral Home, 2207 Holly Ave. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m.
