No students injured in school bus accident

COLUMBIA — A bus transporting students from Lee Elementary School hit a tree Friday afternoon. No one was injured.

Traveling along Rock Quarry Road, Bus No. 103 from Lee Elementary lost one of its rear-dual tires and hit a tree between 4:30 and 4:50 p.m. Friday, Columbia Public School District spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark said. 

Five students were on-board during the accident, but no one was injured, Baumstark said. The bus sustained minor damage, and there was no broken glass. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Another bus picked up the students.
