The Stephens College women’s basketball team fell 56-31 to No. 18 Lyon College in a Coaches vs. Cancer foundation game on Saturday.

The Stephens Stars dedicated the game to sophomore guard Sam Stirmlinger's mother, Kathy Stirmlinger, who is battling breast cancer.

Senior Jessica McConnell led the Stars with eight points and nine rebounds in the loss. Stephens College (4-16) will take on Hannibal-LaGrange University on the road Thursday.
